got a female DIN tube end that’s M22 x 1.5. will this step it down to a male M14 x 1.5?

It steps between two DIN tube sizes by going from a female M22 x 1.5 (L15) on one side to a male M14 x 1.5 (L08) on the other, so it’s meant for exactly that kind of reduction.

One side carries a female DIN tube connection with an M22 x 1.5 thread, and the other side is a male DIN tube connection with an M14 x 1.5 thread. So in practical terms, you're stepping down from a larger tube fitting to a smaller one in a straight run. The female end receives the larger fitting, and the male end threads into the smaller port.
