we run a pretty noisy shop floor already, but management's been on us about keeping the sound down on new equipment installs, does this pump actually make a difference in that department?

Noise reduction is actually a real selling point on the PVM Series. Compared to conventional piston pump designs, this unit runs at 50% less noise, which is a meaningful drop in a production environment. It won't turn your shop into a library, but if you're adding equipment and trying to keep overall sound levels from climbing, that spec matters.
