I need somethin' to hook up a DIN fitting to a NPT, is this the right piece?

This adapter will certainly do the trick. It's got a female DIN tube connection on one side (M36 x 2.0) and a male NPT on the other (1 - 11.5 NPTF), so it's made for exactly that.

trying to hook a female DIN tube end up to a 1 inch NPT port. is this the right adapter?

For that kind of hookup, it matches a Female DIN Tube connection on one side and a Male NPTF thread on the other. The DIN side is M36 x 2.0 (L28) and the NPT side is 1 - 11.5 NPTF (1 inch).
