got a trencher that needs a new drive motor and I keep seein this one pop up, is the 4000 series actually built for that kind of work or is it more of a light duty unit?

Application-wise, it's plenty suitable for wood product equipment, so it should do the trick. Torque rating's at 485 Nm and it can handle up to 95 litres per minute flow rate.
