What's the deal with that Dura-Kote plating? Does it actually help with rust?

Dura-Kote plating gives this valve plug some serious extra protection against corrosion. So yeah, it'll hold up a lot better, even in damp or harsh conditions.

What kind of corrosion protection does this valve plug actually have? Running equipment outdoors and need something that'll hold up.
