Running straight to full load skips a step that really does matter on these motors. Eaton Char-Lynn recommends about an hour at 30% of rated pressure before you put it under a full load. That break-in period lets the internal components seat properly and helps you get the most service life out of it. Also make sure the motor case is completely filled with fluid before any load is applied, not just primed but fully filled.

Max case pressure is 300 PSI when you are not using an external case drain. If you expect continuous back pressure over 300 PSI, add an external case drain line and route it so the motor case stays full of oil at all times.
