I need a pump for a project. What kind of fluid should I be using with this one?

The recommended operating viscosity range is 85 to 297 SUS. You can go as low as 66 SUS, but you'll need to reduce the working pressure by 80% and run it at the minimum speed. Maximum starting viscosity is 3635 SUS.

pump says CW rotation but i need to run it the other way, is that something that can actually be changed or am i buying the wrong unit?

Rotation on this pump can be reversed without swapping out the unit entirely. You do it by reversing the position of the drive shaft and driven shaft, then rotating the front flange. It's a mechanical change rather than an ordering issue, so if counterclockwise is what your setup calls for, this pump can be configured that way.
