got a 1/4 inch line i need to extend a little bit, will this nipple thread right into standard pipe fittings without any fuss?

Standard NPT fittings are what this nipple is built for, so yes it'll mate up with any 1/4 inch threaded fitting following that same thread pattern. Schedule 40 wall thickness means you're getting solid, full-strength pipe rather than a thin-wall piece. Just make sure your existing fittings are also 1/4 NPT and you'll be in good shape.
