Product Questions & Answers

fitting says it's for low and medium pressure hydraulics, but what happens if there's a shock hazard in the system?
Question by: Ross C on Jan 27, 2026, 2:50 PM
For lines where shock loads are a concern, you'd want to swap over to H277 or H435 hose instead of running this fitting in that setup. The 05E-605 itself is built for general purpose low and medium pressure applications, and Eaton specifically calls out those two hose options for shock hazard situations. Good news is the JIC 37 female swivel end makes swapping into a compatible hose assembly pretty straightforward.

got a hose setup that sees a lot of banging around, is this 05E-605 the kind of fitting you’d run for that?

For equipment that gets jarred and bumped, this fitting is meant for general purpose low to medium pressure hydraulics and it specifically calls out use with H277 or H435 where shock hazards exist.
