I’m looking at this for a mower, will it hold up being cast iron?

Cast iron construction makes this Danfoss/Eaton XLS series spool valve a good choice for field conditions, so it should definitely hold up for turf care equipment.

Got a turf care machine that needs a low-speed motor with decent torque, would this Char-Lynn unit hold up for that kind of work?

Turf care is actually one of the applications this motor was built around. It puts out 171 Nm of torque and tops out at 57 litres per minute, which lines up well with the consistent low-speed demands that mowers and similar equipment put on a hydraulic drive. The cast iron housing holds up in field conditions better than lighter materials, so it's not going to give out on you after a season of hard use.
