flow rate on this thing says 700 liters per minute -- is that enough for a high-volume press or die casting setup, or is it really more suited for lighter duty work?

For high-volume press and die casting applications, 700 liters per minute is genuinely substantial. That kind of flow capacity puts it well into the range needed for demanding industrial cycles, which is exactly the environment this valve was built around. Die casting and press work are both explicitly listed applications, so you're not pushing it into territory it wasn't meant for.
