Product Questions & Answers

We run a pretty heavy-duty press operation and been looking at two-stage directional valves for a while now. This one rated for 700 litres per minute, is that the actual max flow or just a nominal figure they slap on the spec sheet?

700 litres per minute is the rated flow capacity for this valve. That figure represents the upper end of what it's built to handle, so for a press application it sits well within the range this series was designed for. Press use are actually one of the named application types for this valve, along with machine tool, die casting, primary metal, and several others, so you're in good company using it there.

reckon this valve would hold up in a machine shop environment, what with all the coolant and whatnot flying around?
Question by: Dustin R on Aug 30, 2025, 5:09 PM
This DG5V-10 valve uses Buna-N seals, which are compatible with a broad range of hydraulic fluids typically found in machine shop applications, offering good resistance to coolants and other common shop fluids.
