flow rate on this thing tops out at 700 litres per minute, that enough to run a press or some heavier foundry equipment without choking out?

For press and die casting applications, 700 litres per minute is a solid ceiling and covers the demand range most of that equipment runs at. This valve was built with exactly those environments in mind, so it's not just a flow number on paper. Die casting, foundry work, and press systems are all listed as intended applications, so you're not pushing it into territory it wasn't meant for.
