flow rate on this thing is listed at 700 liters per minute -- is that enough for a press application or would it be cutting it close?

For press applications, 700 liters per minute is a solid flow capacity and generally well within what most press circuits demand. This valve is actually listed with press use as one of its intended applications, so it's not a stretch to run it there. As long as your system's demand stays within that ceiling, you should be in good shape without worrying about flow restriction becoming a bottleneck.
