Can this handle hydraulic systems in a die casting operation, or is it more for machining?

Its application coverage is pretty broad. It's definitely used in die casting and foundry work, but also in machine tool, presses, primary metal, marine/offshore, turbine control, and even test equipment. So it should fit right in.

flow rate on this one tops out at 80 LPM if I'm reading it right -- that accurate for continuous industrial use?

Correct, 80 litres per minute is the rated flow capacity on this valve. It runs a 30-watt solenoid with Buna-N seals, which puts it in solid shape for continuous-duty applications without a lot of fuss.
