flow rate on this thing says 700 liters per minute -- that seem right for die casting work or is that just the ceiling under ideal conditions?

For die casting applications, 700 liters per minute is the rated flow capacity on this valve. That's a real-world upper limit, not some theoretical number that only shows up in a lab. Die casting setups tend to demand fast, high-volume fluid movement, and this valve was built with exactly that kind of application in mind. Running at or near that ceiling will depend on your system pressure and circuit design, but the rating itself is solid for that use case.
