flow rate on this unit is listed at 700 liters per minute -- is that enough for press and die casting work or is it more suited to lighter duty stuff?

For press and die casting applications, 700 liters per minute is a substantial flow capacity. Die casting and foundry environments are actually listed as intended applications for this valve, so it was built with those kinds of high-demand cycles in mind. Press work is also on that list. If your system runs within that flow range, this valve fits right in with what it was built for.
