flow rate on this thing is listed at 700 litres per minute -- is that enough to handle high-demand press or die casting circuits without having to stack multiple valves?

For press and die casting applications, 700 litres per minute is genuinely substantial capacity for a single directional control valve. Most high-demand circuits in those environments run well within that ceiling, so stacking valves just to hit flow targets generally isn't necessary with this unit. The two-stage design is part of what makes that flow capacity practical at this size, since pilot-operated valves handle high flow more efficiently than direct-acting types at equivalent ratings.
