Flow rate on this thing is listed at 700 litres per minute, that enough to handle a heavy press application without the valve becoming a bottleneck?

For press work, 700 litres per minute is a solid ceiling. That kind of capacity puts it well above what most press circuits actually demand in continuous operation, so flow restriction at the valve itself generally won't be your problem. The DG5V-8 series is specifically called out for press applications, so the design intent lines up with what you're running.
