got a setup that needs a single-stage directional valve, is this one three-way or four-way?

Function-wise, it’s a DG4V-5 20 Design single-stage directional control valve that’s built for three-way or four-way directional control.

runs at 38 watts, so is this valve gonna be okay runnin on a standard solenoid setup without overheatin the coil?

At 38 watts, the coil draw on this valve is well within what standard industrial solenoid circuits are built to handle. Heat buildup at that wattage is generally not a concern under normal duty conditions, and the Buna-N seals hold up well in typical hydraulic fluid environments. Just make sure your power supply is matched to the coil voltage spec before hooking it up.
