flow rate on this valve is listed at 80 liters per minute -- is that gonna be enough for press or die casting work, or do I need something beefier?

For most press and die casting setups, 80 liters per minute is a solid working flow rate. Vickers built this valve with those exact applications in mind, along with foundry work and primary metal processing, so it's not an afterthought. Whether it's enough really comes down to your system's demand at peak cycle. If your actuator sizing and line velocities fall within that 80 LPM ceiling, you're in good shape.
