The Q250 valve plate changes the flow and pressure characteristics inside the pump compared to a standard valve plate configuration. It's one of the things that sets this particular unit apart from other pumps in the PVH series. Combined with the no case-to-inlet check valve setup, it makes this pump better suited for specific system designs where those standard features would either be unnecessary or create problems. If you're swapping in a replacement, just make sure your existing system was already running a Q250-equipped unit, because dropping a standard PVH in its place won't give you the same behavior.
