pump's got torque-limiting built in, does that actually help with wear on heavy equipment like conveyor lines or is it more of a marketing thing?

Torque limiting on a piston pump is a real mechanical function, not just a label. When load demand spikes, the pump backs off its output to keep drive torque within a set range. On something like a conveyor line running continuous cycles, that means the drive motor and pump internals aren't getting hammered every time the system loads up. Over time that does translate to less wear on both the pump and whatever's powering it.
