what kind of seal material does this pump use, and does it hold up alright in rougher industrial setups?

Viton seals are used throughout, which is a solid choice for industrial environments where heat, oil, and chemical exposure are everyday concerns. Viton holds up considerably better than standard rubber in those conditions, so for a pump running in a demanding shop or press application, you're in good shape on that front.
