what all is this pump built to handle? got some pretty rough applications in mind and want to make sure it ain't gonna tap out on me

Pretty broad range of tough jobs, actually. The PVQ Series covers mining machinery, injection molding, metal forming, oil and gas equipment, conveyor lines, primary metals work, and metal cutting equipment. That covers a lot of ground on the industrial side, so unless you're running something outside those categories, you're likely in good shape.

This Vickers pump, is it noisy when it's running? I'm looking to replace one that sounds like a freight train.

Reduced operating noise is one of the features of the Vickers PVQ series.
