Metal forming is one of the core applications this pump was built around, along with injection molding machines, mining machinery, conveyor lines, and oil and gas equipment. It also runs well on primary metals and metal cutting setups. So yeah, for a metal forming operation it fits right in the wheelhouse this pump was designed for.
