flow rate on this one is 40 LPM, but what all industries is it actually built for? got a press application and want to make sure it ain't overkill or undersized

Forty litres per minute puts it in a solid range for a lot of industrial work. Press applications are right in the wheelhouse for this valve, along with machine tool, die casting and foundry, primary metal, marine and offshore, test equipment, and turbine control setups. So if you're running a press circuit, you're well within the intended use case for this series.

If I'm running a die casting setup, reckon this'll do the trick for directional control?

For die casting and foundry work, this Vickers valve should provide reliable three- or four-way directional control. It's also used in machine tool, marine/offshore, press, and primary metal applications.
