Running this on a press line where leakage has been a real headache. How bad is the internal leakage on this valve compared to a standard unit?
Question by: Wayne G on Mar 12, 2026, 2:30 PM
Leakage on this one is held to around 5 ml per minute per land at 100 bar. That's the low leakage version, which is what the special spool overlap is there for. Trade-off is that head loss runs about twice what you'd see on a standard valve, so pressure drop across it will be higher. If tight leakage control is the priority on your press, that's the version you want, just go in knowing the head loss difference is real and worth accounting for in your circuit design.

Wondering if this valve is gonna drop right in where my old one was? Same bolt pattern and all?

This Vickers valve mounts on industry-standard surfaces, so it should be a direct replacement if your current valve also uses a standard mounting pattern.
