flow rate on this valve is listed at 80 liters per minute -- is that enough for press or die casting work, or do most folks need something bigger for those applications?

For die casting and press applications, 80 liters per minute is a solid working flow rate and sits right in the range those industries commonly run. The DG4V-3 series was built with exactly those environments in mind, so you're not fighting the valve to get the performance you need. Whether that ceiling is enough depends on your system demands, but it's not a lightweight rating by any stretch.
