Flow rate on this thing is listed at 700 litres per minute, that enough to handle a decent-sized die casting setup or is it more suited for lighter press work?

For die casting applications, 700 litres per minute is a solid capacity and well within what most mid-to-large die casting use push through a directional control valve at this size. It also holds up fine for press work. The DG5V 8 series is built with those exact environments in mind, along with primary metal processing and turbine control, so it's not a light-duty valve by any stretch. If your system is running anywhere near that flow range, this valve is sized appropriately for the job.
