flow rate on this one is listed at 700 litres per minute -- that able to handle press and machine tool work without issues?

For press and machine tool applications, 700 litres per minute is a substantial capacity. The DG5V-8 series was built with exactly those environments in mind, so you're not pushing it into territory it wasn't meant for. Both application types are explicitly supported across the model range, and the valve's two-stage design holds up well under the kind of demand those circuits typically put on directional control components.
