flow rate on this thing says 700 liters per minute -- that right for high-demand press or die casting work, or is that more than what most setups actually need?

For press and die casting applications, 700 liters per minute is a serious flow capacity. Most high-cycle industrial presses and die casting machines run well within that range, so this valve gives you headroom rather than a bottleneck. The two-stage design also helps manage that kind of flow more smoothly than a single-stage unit would at comparable rates.
