flow rate on this thing is listed at 700 liters per minute -- is that enough for press or die casting work, or is that more of a ceiling you'd rarely hit in practice?

For press and die casting applications, 700 liters per minute is a substantial flow capacity. Most industrial press and die casting circuits operate well within that range, so you're unlikely to be pushing against that ceiling under normal duty. The valve is specifically called out for both of those application types, so the flow rating aligns with what those environments actually demand.
