Reckon this'll do the trick for regulatin' pressure in my hydraulic setup?
Question by: Rod C on Jun 2, 2025, 3:25 PM
This Vickers CG5 valve is indeed suitable for applications requiring an adjustable pressure relief or regulating valve, effectively limiting pressure in a hydraulic circuit to a desired maximum.

max flow on this valve is listed at 454 liters per minute -- is that enough for a standard pressure relief setup on a mid-size hydraulic circuit?

For most mid-size hydraulic systems running a pressure relief or regulating function, 454 liters per minute is well within a solid working range. That flow capacity gives you plenty of headroom without over-sizing the valve for the job. The CG5 series is built around adjustable pressure control, so the flow rating pairs well with circuits where you need a reliable ceiling on system pressure rather than high-volume throughput management.
