flow rate on this one is listed at 40 LPM -- that enough for most press and machine tool setups or is it gonna be tight on higher-demand circuits?

For a good chunk of press and machine tool applications, 40 litres per minute is plenty. Where it gets tight is on high-cycle circuits running large-bore cylinders or high-displacement motors at speed. If your system is sized around that flow range or below it, you're in good shape. Push past it and you'll start seeing pressure drop issues and heat buildup that'll work against you.
