Can this be used in a hydraulic press application?

flow rate on this one is listed at 40 LPM -- is that gonna hold up running something like a press or die casting setup, or is that more of a light-duty number?

Forty litres per minute puts it squarely in mid-range territory, which lines up well with press and die casting applications. Those are actually listed uses for this valve, so it's not being stretched outside its design intent. Whether it's enough depends on your circuit's demand at peak load, but for a lot of standard press and die casting setups that don't require high-volume flow, 40 LPM is a reasonable fit.
