flow rate on this one is listed at 40 LPM, that enough for most press and machine tool setups or is it on the lower end for that kind of work?

For a good portion of press and machine tool applications, 40 litres per minute lands right in a practical working range. It's not a high-volume valve, but those environments often run circuits that don't demand extreme flow, and this valve handles directional switching in exactly those kinds of setups. If your circuit calls for something heavier, you'd want to size up, but for standard machine tool and press work it fits well within typical requirements.
