Reckon this valve could handle the hydraulic system on my silage chopper? Runs pretty steady when we're in the fields.

For harvesters, this Vickers solenoid valve should work fine, as long as your system stays within its max pressure of 350 bar (5000 psi) and a flow rate up to 227 L/min (60 USgpm). It's built to be reliable, even under pressure.

we run a refuse hauler fleet and been looking at solenoid valves that can hold up under real pressure - does this one actually handle 5000 psi or is that just a peak rating?

Rated at 350 bar, which works out to 5000 psi, and that's a legitimate operating pressure for this valve, not just a ceiling you'd never touch. The body is hardened and ground steel, so it's built to take sustained load, not just survive occasional spikes. For refuse hauler applications specifically, this valve is listed as a direct fit use case, so it lines up well with that kind of work.
