Running this on a refuse hauler setup, does 24 volts work straight off the truck's electrical system, or is there some kind of converter needed to make it fit right?

Most refuse haulers run a 24-volt system, so you'd be plugging right into what's already there. The valve operates on 24V DC, which lines up with standard heavy equipment electrical setups in that class. No converter needed if your truck is already wired for 24V.
