Reckon this valve would work on a refuse truck, seeing as how it's listed for haulers?

Running this on a refuse hauler setup, does the 12 volt coil work straight off a truck's electrical system, or do we need some kind of converter in between?

Twelve volts is standard truck electrical, so it'll pull power straight from the vehicle's system without any step-down or conversion needed. That's actually one of the reasons this valve gets used in mobile equipment like refuse haulers in the first place. Just make sure your circuit can handle the draw and you're good to go.
