Running this on a refuse hauler, does 24 volts work straight off the truck's electrical system, or do I need some kind of converter to make it fit?

Most refuse haulers run a 24-volt electrical system, so this valve should tie in without needing a converter. The solenoid is rated at 24 volts DC, which lines up with the standard electrical setup on that class of equipment. Just verify your system is DC and not AC before wiring it in, and you should be good to go.
