got a harvester that keeps blowing out solenoid valves under load, this a normally closed setup or does it default open when power cuts out?

Normally closed is exactly what this valve is. When the solenoid loses power, the valve closes and stays closed. For harvester applications where you want flow to stop automatically on a power loss, that behavior is the right call. The valve handles up to 350 bar (5000 psi) and is built from hardened and ground steel, so it's not going to fold under the kind of pressure cycling that harvester hydraulics throw at it.
