Running this on a refuse hauler that's been giving us fits with pressure spikes. Does this valve hold up to 5,000 psi, or is that more of a peak rating?

Rated for 350 bar, which works out to 5,000 psi, so that number is the full working pressure rating for this valve, not just a momentary peak figure. The poppet-style construction is what makes it reliable at those pressures since poppets tend to hold a clean seal under load better than spool-type designs. For refuse hauler circuits, where pressure events can be pretty aggressive, that combination of a solid pressure rating and poppet build is exactly what makes the RV1-10 series a practical fit.
