Reckon this would work alright on a refuse hauler?

Its application list does include refuse haulers, so it should be suitable for that purpose.

Got a harvester that keeps popping relief and I'm pretty sure the current valve's just worn out. This a direct-acting poppet style or one of them pilot-operated units?

Poppet-style, direct-acting. That construction tends to hold up well in field conditions and stays pretty consistent once it's set. The RV1-8 series is rated to 350 bar (5000 psi) with a flow capacity up to 300 L/min (80 USgpm), though the rated flow for this specific valve is 15 litres per minute. If your harvester circuit is running within that range, this one fits the application directly.
