flow rate on this thing goes up to 114 liters per minute -- is that enough for a refuse hauler setup or would it be cutting it close?

For refuse hauler applications, 114 liters per minute puts you in solid territory. The VF1-16 series was built with exactly that kind of mobile equipment in mind, so you're not working against the grain here. The valve handles pressures up to 350 bar, which gives you plenty of headroom on the pressure side as well. Most refuse hauler hydraulic circuits running standard lift and compaction cycles will work comfortably within those numbers.

What's the width of this flow control valve? Just need to make sure it'll fit in the space I got.

This Vickers flow control valve has a width of 1.5 inches.
