What kind of equipment does this valve usually go on?

runs on 115 volt power, but what exactly is this valve doing in the system? is it just on/off or something more?

At its core, this is a 2-way, 2-position normally closed solenoid valve. That means flow is blocked until the solenoid energizes, then it opens to allow flow through. When power cuts, it snaps back to the closed position. Pretty straightforward on/off control, no proportional or modulating behavior. got a mobile rig that needs a normally closed 2-way valve. is this one a 2-position deal or am i mixin it up

Function-wise, it is a 2-way, 2-position solenoid valve and it is normally closed, so it stays shut until the coil is energized.
