flow rate on this thing, is 120 liters per minute the max it'll handle, or is that more of a continuous rating?

120 liters per minute is the rated flow capacity for this valve. That's the ceiling on what it's built to move, so you'd want to stay at or under that figure when sizing it into your system. Pushing past rated flow on any directional control valve tends to cause pressure drop issues and wear you don't want.
