flow rate on this one says 80 liters per minute -- is that enough for press applications or do them presses usually need something beefier?

Eighty liters per minute handles a solid range of press work. Vickers actually lists press applications as one of the intended uses for this valve, so it's built with that duty in mind. Whether it fits your specific press comes down to your system's actual flow demands, but the rating is not a light-duty number by any stretch.
