got a system that needs a 3-way or 4-way directional valve, is this DG4V-3 one of those?

Built as a single-stage directional control valve, it handles three- or four-way flow control and is part of the Vickers DG4V-3 series.

flow rate on this valve is listed at 80 litres per minute -- is that enough to run a press circuit without bogging things down?

For most press applications, 80 litres per minute gives you solid working capacity. The DG4V-3 series is actually listed as suitable for press use right alongside machine tool and die casting setups, so it's not a stretch to run it in that kind of circuit. Whether it covers your full system demand depends on what else is drawing flow, but the valve itself won't be the weak link at typical press operating volumes.
