what exactly is a bearing cup, and is that the same thing as a bearing race?
Question by: Pete M on Nov 19, 2025, 8:33 AM
A bearing cup is the outer ring component of a tapered roller bearing assembly. The rollers sit against it, and it works together with a cone (the inner race) to handle load. So yes, in common shop talk, the cup is the outer race. This particular one is a Danfoss/Eaton spare part made from carbon steel, sold individually, and it carries SKU 0103807-000 under the Eaton Char-Lynn line.

What size bearing does this cup fit? Just trying to make sure I get the right one.

It has a product width of 3.67 inches, which should help you confirm fit.
